THE firm behind Dublin gaming arcade Dr Quirkey’s Good Time Emporium saw its profit after tax fall from €4.3 million to €1.5m last year.
The directors of the company are former garda Richard Quirke and his wife Ann.
Thurles-born Mr Quirke is also behind the proposed Las Vegas-style casino in TwoMileBorris in North Tipperary.
Latest accounts for Dublin Pool & Juke Box Co Limited for the year ended June 30, 2010 also saw gross profits fall from just over €9m to €5.7m.
The accounts said the company is continuing to purchase land and properties to develop a casino leisure complex in Co Tipperary.
"There is no concern regarding the company’s ability to continue as a going concern, the company has adequate funds available through directors’ loans," the accounts said.
Mr Quirke and his wife received almost €1m in remuneration last year from the firm, down from €1.1m the previous year.
Mr Quirke’s Las Vegas-style casino in North Tipperary is being promoted by local Independent TD Michael Lowry.
If it gets the go-ahead the 800-acre rural site will be the largest European resort development since EuroDisney.
The €460m venture will provide a national equestrian centre, a golf club, a concert venue and a 80,000 square metre hotel casino.
A decision is due on the planning for this development at the end of this month.
Mr Quirke’s son, Wesley is the boyfriend of former Miss World, Rosanna Davison.
